TOPOGRAPHIC: Mapping Data

This page illustrates the digital data that Topographic Mapping Company (TMC) sells. All TMC data is "geo-referenced". That is, it has been mapped to a real-world coordinate system. This ensures that all spatial data overlays properly. To download a sample of each data type, click on the appropriate link.

DIGITAL LAND GRID

COVERAGE: Oklahoma, Kansas, Eastern New Mexico
ACCURACY: +/- 40 ft.
FORMATS: DWG, DXF, TMC, SHP

COORDINATE SYSTEM: State Plane, UTM, Latitude-Longitude or any other standard projection/coordinate system.

TEXAS LAND GRID

COVERAGE: West Texas (approx. 98d W to 104d W Longitude, 30d N to 37d N Latitude)
ACCURACY: +/- 40 ft.

DESCRIPTION: Section, Block and Railroad lines of Texas Government Land Office (GLO) surveys. Digitized referencing USGS 1:24000 (7.5') topographic quadrangles.

USGS DIGITAL RASTER GRAPHIC (DRG)

COVERAGE: Oklahoma and most other areas of U.S.
ACCURACY: +/- 40 ft.
FORMATS: TIF or JPG (plus World file)
SIZE: 1.5 Mb to 12 Mb
COORDINATE SYSTEM: UTM, State Plane, Latitude-Longitude or any other standard projection/coordinate system.
DATUM: NAD 27 or NAD 83
UNITS: US Feet, Int. Feet, Meters or Decimal Degrees
DESCRIPTION: Scanned images of the USGS 1:24000 (7.5') topographic quadrangle maps. Resolution is 400 dpi. Can be ordered with collar information clipped or intact. World file geo-references image to desired coordinate system.

DIGITAL ORTHO QUARTER QUAD (DOQQ)

COVERAGE: Oklahoma
ACCURACY: +/- 20 ft; 1 Meter pixels

DESCRIPTION: Ortho-rectified black-and-white aerial photographs. Each photo covers a quarter of a USGS 1:24000 (7.5') topographic quadrangle. Vintage is 1995-1996. Referenced to real-world coordinates with an associated world file.

TESS GRID

DESCRIPTION: Texas Excavation Survey System grid by USGS 7.5' quadrangle. Shows 30" grid boundaries with Latitude-Longitude identifiers in each grid square. Identifier is used to call TESS to have utilities marked.

10 METER CONTOURS

COVERAGE: Oklahoma
ACCURACY: +/- 250 ft
FORMATS: DWG, DXF, SHP
SIZE: 2 Mb (per County)
COORDINATE SYSTEM: State Plane, UTM, Latitude-Longitude or any other standard projection/coordinate system.
DATUM: NAD 27 or NAD 83
UNITS: US Feet, Int. Feet, Meters or Decimal Degrees
DESCRIPTION: 10 Meter (30 ft) contours of Oklahoma drawn from 1:100000 USGS maps. DWG and DXF files have 3D elevation (meters or feet) and are layered and colored by elevation. Shapefiles have attributes of elevation by meter and feet.
