    Drafter -
    Lafayette, CO

    The Drafter position will be based out of our Lafayette, CO office. He or she will be minimal supervision and make routine decisions. Our Corporate office location is in Fort Worth, TX.


    The following are examples of duties:


    • Performs detailed construction drawings, topographical profiles, and related maps and specifications used in planning and construction of oil and gas/pipeline/alternative energy projects.
    • Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other data.
    • Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls, tunnels, overhead power lines, and other structures.
    • Drafts detailed drawings of structures and installations, for example road, pipelines, utility lines, etc.
    • Performs other duties as described under a Survey Tech, Sr. Drafter or Professional Land Surveyor. May also specialize in drafting and modifying topographical maps from surveying notes and aerial photographs.
    • Will use computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and Carlson software.

    Qualifications:


    • Basic understanding of survey procedures and data collection.
    • Level of knowledge to work independently.
    • 1-3 years’ experience.
    • Carlson software experience.
    • AutoCad experience.
    • The candidate will be customer service and team oriented.
    • He or she will be a self-starter, organized, attentive to detail, and able to work under stress to meet deadlines.

    Survey Office Technician -
    Lafayette, CO

    The Survey Technician performs advanced technical surveying, working in the office. He or she will work with minimal supervision and make routine decisions. This position is based out of our Lafayette, CO office. Our Corporate location is in Fort Worth, TX.


    The following are examples of duties:


    • Research public records, prepare right-of-way, easement, topographic and boundary survey maps.
    • Convert field survey data to computer map form using CAD and Carlson software and perform associated mapping and records work as assigned. Prepare as-built drawings of construction projects.
    • Review client plans for compliance with surveying protocols and company standards. Prepare maps of the new project areas for inclusion into GIS. Prepare specialty maps for client use.
    • Maintain the horizontal and vertical control database.
    • Prepare specialty maps for client use.

    Qualifications:


    • Applicants will have a basic understanding of survey procedures and data collection and a level of knowledge to work independently.
    • Three years of experience performing technical survey work with emphasis in the area of surveying and mapping, with preference of knowledge in civil and pipeline work.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects using raw field data and computer data.
    • Ability to apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying related problems,
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of Carlson Software’s civil, survey software is a necessity.
    • Ability to review their own work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements as appropriate.
    • The candidate will be customer service and team oriented.
    • He or she will be a self-starter, organized, attentive to detail, and able to work under stress to meet deadlines.
    • Experience in oil and gas field development as well as civil work is an asset

    Survey Crew Party Chiefs and Instrument Techs -
    Lafayette, CO

    Topographic Land Surveyors, Lafayette, CO is seeking experienced Survey Crews Party Chiefs and Instrument Techs for immediate full time positions for areas in and around the Lafayette, CO area. Three or more years’ experience as survey party chief in surveying pipelines/well locations and boundary work for energy industries, oil , gas and power lines. Civil surveying A+. The Party Chief will be in charge of crew utilizing total stations, data collectors, and GPS. Accurate detailed notes and drawings are required. Ability to communicate effectively with internal support-drafters and survey techs.


    Instrument Techs/Iman carries out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief. You will carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, etc. You must have the ability to cut and clear brush/trees with a machete/saws to clear lines of sight. This job is outdoors and requires the ability to work long hours outdoors, lift 50 lbs, familiarity with GPS, Total Stations and other data collection equipment and process, including the use of measuring tapes and levels.


    Job Requirements for the Survey Crew includes:


    • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
    • High School Diploma
    • 1-3 Years of experience preferred
    • Must have a valid CO Driver’s License with clean driving record.
    • Must be able to start work at 7:00 am Monday through Friday

    Survey Tech/PC -
    Fort Worth, TX

    Position entails a combination of field and office work as the needs dictate. Candidate must have the ability to act as Party Chief on a field crew, and as a Survey Technician in the office. Experience needs to include Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, subdivision and municipal work. Candidate needs to be proficient with Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, and AutoCAD Civil3D.

    Survey Tech/SIT - Fort Worth, TX

    Seeking Surveyor-in-Training to manage and coordinate field surveying and office drafting requirements for internal/external customer. Passed the Texas S.I.T. exam and pursuing a career as a RPLS. If not SIT, will consider candidates with 5-7 years prior Survey Tech experience and seeking opportunity to grow into a S.I.T position. Experienced Survey Technicians may have the opportunity to be considered as a Project Manager, leading projects and working directly with the client base.
