    Survey Technician/Project Manager - Fort Worth, TX

    Position performs advanced technical surveying, working in the office and field. You will work with minimal supervision and make routine decisions. Experienced Survey Technicians may have the opportunity to be considered as a Project Manager, leading projects and working directly with the client base. Researches public records, prepare right-of-way, easement, topographic and boundary survey maps. Converts field survey data to computer map form using CAD software and perform associated mapping and records work as assigned. Prepares as-built drawings of construction projects. Reviews clients plans for compliance with surveying protocols and company standards. Follows through with clients requirements while maintaining company standards and prepares specialty maps for client use. Prepares maps of the new project areas for inclusion into GIS. Maintains the horizontal and vertical control database.


    Applicants will have an understanding of survey procedures and data collection and a level of knowledge to work independently. Three years+ of experience performing technical survey work with emphasis in the area of surveying and mapping. Ability to work on multiple projects using raw field data and computer data. He or she will be a self-starter, organized, attentive to detail, and able to work under stress to meet deadlines. Fast pace work environment. Ability to apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying related problems. Working knowledge of AutoCAD is necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of Carlson Software’s civil, survey software is an asset. Ability to review their own work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements as appropriate. The candidate will be customer service and team oriented.

    GS Technician - Lafayette, CO

    The GIS Technician performs advanced GIS mapping operations.


    Responsibilities

    • Research public records, prepare right-of-way, easement, topographic and boundary survey maps.
    • Utilize Esri, Trimble, and CAD software to produce visualizations, reports, and analysis of field survey data. Perform associated mapping and records work as assigned.
    • Prepare as-built geodatabases for construction projects from as-built field data and ensure that quality control on new or revised data conforms to standards laid out in the geodatabase, or any other applicable standard or policy.
    • Review clients plans for compliance with surveying protocols and Topographic Land Surveyors standards.
    • Prepare specialty maps for client use. Prepare maps of new project areas and project planning.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum two-year college diploma in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent.
    • Two years of experience and knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software.
    • Applicants will have a basic understanding of survey procedures and data collection and a level of knowledge to work independently.
    • Ability to apply land surveying methodologies, formulas, principles, and techniques to solve surveying related problems.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson Software’s civil and survey package.
    • Experience in oil and gas field development, civil engineering, and aerial mapping.
    • Ability to review work for accuracy and completeness and the initiative to recommend solutions or improvements.
    • The candidate must have good attention to detail to maintain and enter data in a GIS database.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective harmonious working relationships with existing staff.

    Instrument Tech (Iman) - Fort Worth, TX

    Instrument Techs/Iman carries out instructions and tasks assigned by Party Chief. You will carry instruments, field equipment, hammers, stakes, etc. You must have the ability to cut and clear brush/trees with a machete/saws to clear lines of sight. This job is outdoors and requires the ability to work long hours outdoors, lift 50 lbs., familiarity with GPS, Total Stations and other data collection equipment and process, including the use of measuring tapes and levels. Experience preferred but willing to train the right applicant.


    Job requirements include:


    • High School Diploma
    • 1-3 Years of experience preferred
    • Must have a valid State Driver’s License with clean driving record
    • Must be able to start work at 7:00 am Monday through Friday
    • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines
    • Must be able to occasionally travel overnight for short periods (3-5 days) and on short notice
    • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

    Drafter - Fort Worth, TX.

    Drafts detailed construction drawings, topographical profiles, and related maps and specifications used in planning and construction of oil and gas/pipeline/alternative energy projects. Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other data. Plots maps and charts showing profiles and cross-sections, indicating relation of topographical contours and elevations to buildings, retaining walls, tunnels, overhead power lines, and other structures. Drafts detailed drawings of structures and installations, for example road, pipelines, utility lines, etc.. Performs other duties as described under a Survey Tech, Sr. Drafter or Professional Land Surveyor. May also specialize in drafting and modifying topographical maps from surveying notes and aerial photographs. Will use computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.


    1-3 years’ experience. Carlson software experience a plus.
